Obama Betrays Our Ally Israel   May 19th, 2011
Obama is progressive alright... he's progressively worse with almost every decision he makes

QUICK OBSERVATIONS

Considering President Obama threw Israel under the bus today, I have a hypothetical question...

Consider a scenario in which international relations between the U.S. and Mexico severely deteriorated with the Mexican government actively encouraging drug cartels to launch violence in Texas. Ponder how citizens of the United States would feel if our ally, the UK, tried to kick-start a "peace process" between Mexico and the U.S. by stating that negotiations should be based on the boundaries as they stood in 1845... offering up California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and much of Colorado before the U.S. and Mexico even sat down at the table to negotiate. What if the UK legitimized criminal behavior by stating that the "status quo" was unsustainable and only by surrendering to terrorist attacks was it possible to achieve peace? And what if the prime minister of the UK made that public announcement the day before our president was scheduled to make a state visit as a guest of the "ally" that had just betrayed us.

For all intents and purposes, that's what Obama did to Israel today.

No wonder the Israeli Prime Minister responded as though he had been slapped in the face, rejected the 1967 border proposition, and stated that he expects to hear President Obama reconfirm the commitments to Israel that were articulated by President Bush in 2004.

I have been disappointed in Obama many times, and disagreed with him virtually all of the time. But not since he [WARNING: GRAPHIC LINK] did nothing in support of the protesters in Iran in 2009 have I felt such utter disgust and contempt for our president.

I hope the U.S. House and U.S. Senate will promptly pass a bipartisan resolution reaffirming America's support for Israel and rejecting the president's reckless suggestion of 1967 borders.
