It was just reported by Fox that Obama's climate czar was, until last summer, a member of a socialist organization who's mission it is to enact progressive policies. As I wrote almost a year ago, both Democrats and global warming environmentalists are primarily about wealth redistribution. Obama's pick for climate czar seems to confirm that. Seriously, weren't there any qualified candidates for "climate czar" that weren't socialists? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479935,00.html Carol Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's choice to be his climate czarina, served until last summer as a member of a socialist organization whose mission is to enact progressive government policies, including toward environmental concerns like climate change. So not only was Browner a part of a socialist group, but someone realized that that would be a bad thing for the public to know... and tried to conceal it. Obama has said that taking action on climate change will be a priority in his administration. An Obama spokesman said Browner's membership in Socialist International is not a problem, and she brings "indispensable" experience in policymaking to her new role as Obama's top environmental adviser, a position that does not require Senate confirmation. I wonder if she really does understand about the need to "partnership" with the private sector since socialism doesn't generally think too highly of private ownership. From the website of Socialist International: The SI Commission for a Sustainable World Society was established by the Socialist International to articulate from the world of progressive politics a way forward to address global environmental concerns, climate change and the issues of governance required to deal with these common challenges. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that the U.S. climate czar was part of an international socialist group that endeavors to articulate a way forward on global environmental concerns from the point of view of "progressive politics." And it's nice to know other members of Socialist International include various socialist parties in Venezuela, at least two of which have supported Venezuelan socialist/president Hugo Chavez in the past . It's getting harder and harder to keep an open mind about this administration. I will try to do so but President-Elect Obama is not making it easy on us. Go to the article list |
